“What a tremendously hostile world that a rat must endure. Yet not only does he survive, he thrives. Because our little foe has an instinct for survival and preservation second to none… And that Monsieur is what a Jew shares with a rat.”
- Colonel Hans Landa, Inglourious Basterds
Just watched Inglourious Basterds. Wow. I’m speechless with Christoph Waltz’s performance. BRILLIANT!
That’s Jean-Luc Godard, if you’re wondering.
I’ve always been fond of the cinema.
In those good two straight hours you forget everything.
Who you are, where you are, what’s happening now, absolutely everything.
You’re not worrying about what’s going to happen to you tomorrow or how you’re gonna get through with the rest of the night, there’s no time for that since you’re concentrated on the story of the characters.
It’s kind of like a temporary state of mind that makes you feel better. None of those anti-depressants for me, please.
I think that’s why I want to be a director, or maybe a screenplay writer.
I’d like to do that to people too.
It’s not even about worrying on making a good movie or not (fine, it is as well), you just want people to stop worrying about stuff for a while.
I don’t know if it was because I watched it after An Education or not but….
PERFUME: A STORY OF A MURDERER WAS LAME.
really?
I expected soo much more. Of course I’m reacting this way because of the story, I thought the cinematography and the production design were brilliant.
I don’t know…
